JEAN-FRÉDÉRIC VIRET, CPA (inactive), MBA, PhD

Dr. Viret has over 20 years of experience in both life science finance and molecular biology. He was CFO at Anesiva, Inc., a specialty pharmaceutical company with a commercial product. He joined Anesiva in 2002 and was vice president of finance in 2006. From March 2000 to November 2002, Dr. Viret was associate director of finance at Tularik Inc., a small molecule research and development company which was acquired by Amgen. He served in various positions with PricewaterhouseCoopers from 1997 to 2000. Dr. Viret holds an MBA from Cornell University, and a Ph.D. in molecular biology from Université Louis Pasteur. He completed a postdoctoral fellowship in molecular biology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and was a visiting fellow in molecular biology at Harvard University. Dr. Viret is also a certified public accountant (inactive) in the State of California.
